Molecular diagnostics

The rapidSTRIPE detection system is developed as a new diagnostic platform for very fast, efficient and specific detection of microbial pathogens, like bacteria, protozoa or viruses. The modular structure of this system combines all steps of molecular diagnostics – isolation of nucleic acids, amplification and detection of target nucleic acids.

For detection of Influenca suptype H1N1. The H1N1 Assay contains all reagents for isolation of viral RNA, amplification and detection of H1N1. The isolation of viral RNA from swab samples is based on an optimized method for isolation of viral nucleic acids (patend pending). The final amplification and detection is based on the RAH technology (Rapid Amplification Hybridization) and take place on a simple lateral flow stripe.

For the detection of successful bacterial DNA isolation from foodstuff after cultivation using a stomacher. The test is based on the amplification of a general microbial specific target sequence and the subsequent gelelectrophoretically analysis. The test avoid false negative results referring to test for the detection of pathogens due to an insufficient DNA quality.

Application menthod:
The isolation of the nucleic acids has to be done using the rapidSTRIPE Food DNA Extraction Kit. The protocols inside the accordant user manual have to be followed exactly. The operation of the test was optimized by using nucleic acids, which were isolated by the above mentioned extraction kits. Alternatively, also nucleic acids, which were isolated by other methods could be used.

Kit components:
Well Strip, Food DNA positive control, Primer, dNTP Mix, Polymerase, PCR Buffer, PCR-grade H2O

For the extremely fast isolation of bacterial DNA from foodstuff after standard cultivation steps using a stomacher.

Storage conditions:
The rapidSTRIPE Food DNA Extraction Kit should be stored dry, at room temperature (14°C – 25°C) and is stable for at least 6 months under these conditions. Before every use make sure that all components have room temperature. If there are any precipitates within the provided solutions solve these precipitates by careful warming. Store lyophilized Proteinase K and the MAG Suspension at 4°C!Store dissolved Proteinase K at –20°C. Repeated freezing and thawing will reduce the activity dramatically.Dividing of the Proteinase K into aliquots and storage at –20°C is recommended.
