Reliable, versatile and robust
The ScanDrop uses an unique patented CHIPCUVETTE®, which allows the user the easiest and convincing measurement of sample volumes even down to 0.3 μl.
The CHIPCUVETTE® provides steady measuring conditions, as for example path lengths, what leads to enhanced eproducibility compared to other available “open drop” or “micro litre” systems. It also maintains the best user and sample protection. Evaporation of sample solvent, the risk of cross-contamination or carryover effects are completely eliminated. By using this new chip technology the sample can be easily recovered after measurement or even just kept stored.
The CHIPCUVETTE® provides 16 separate micro channels and is suitable for multichannel pipettes. Its technology ensures precise UV VIS absorption measurements between 190 nm and 720 nm.
Fully automated measurement
The CHIPCUVETTE® is convenient and easy in handling due to the fully automatic movement and measurement of preprogrammed measuring positions. Up to 32 measurements during one run are possible, whereby a repeat determinationof one sample at two different path lengths can be performed.
In case of unknown sample concentrations, this feature will offer a matchless advantage.
High-precision optics
The polychromator system, designed to work without any movable components, is the heart of the ScanDrop. His high-precision optics consists of an aberration-corrected grating, a mechanical slit and the diode array detector.
Encased in a rugged quartz-ceramic body, it is permanently adjusted, fixed and insensitive to external influences.
PC controlled or stand alone
The ScanDrop is controlled either by PC or by a new portable user-interface with touch screen. The accordant measuring and analyzing software ASpect Nano is included into the scope of the delivery. This software provides several modules, which fulfill the requirements of each user. The method module, allows the selection of any pre-programmed method for nucleic acid and protein analysis. Using the formula module, every user can compile, store and reuse customized computation formulae and the quantification module offers the automatically calculation of unknown concentrations by creating a calibration curve containing standard samples. Lots of typically used methods are pre-programmed available.
The formula module will combine up to ten fixed wavelengths mathematically and the quantification module chooses between two calibration curves: one measured at 0.1 mm and one measured at 1.0 mm path length.
External user-interface HID-Pro 320
The new portable user-interface HID-Pro 320 makes a PC superfluous and operations exceptionally easy. Through its extra large 5.7” touch screen no keyboard or mouse is required for operation. The Windows CE based software convince with typical Windows functions, feeling and a clearly arranged menu bar. The HID-Pro 320 consists a LAN and USB port for best connectivity. The HID-Pro 320 is also applicable with other instruments from Analytik Jena | bio solutions as the new SpeedCycler2 thermal cycler.
ScanDrop software
Methods can be individually stored and sorted in directories of choice. In addition a quick-start menu is selectable for frequently used methods. Exchange of methods to other systems or export of analysis data is not limited through a USB and LAN port. This also allows the direct connection of a printer. The operation language can be easily changed by a click of a button.
