Creating synergy effects
Short communication paths are nothing students of chemistry could enjoy at this time in Jena. The room facilities of the Chemical Institute are scattered over the entire city area. A new building for the Institute of Inorganic & Analytical Chemistry of Jena’s Friedrich Schiller University is to help fix this problem. Located at close range to some neighbouring institutes, it facilitates multi-institute and multi-faculty cooperation within the university, while also infilling the largest constructional gap hitherto remaining within the city’s confines.
The new building will accommodate laboratory areas, one lecture hall for 120 persons, as well as seminar and office rooms.
AJZ Engineering provides work phases 2 – 8 of laboratory planning under the project.

As the new building grows, planning works at full capacity. The contractual service pack for laboratory equipment has already been awarded to Waldner Laboreinrichtungs GmbH&Co. KG. At the time being, construction documentation is being compiled by expert planners of AJZ Engineering. Installation of new laboratory equipment is to begin in the late first quarter of 2010.
