Contract won at the University of Boumerdes, Algeria

Reaching Boumerdes, an important centre for science and industry, from Algiers requires a little patience because of the high volume of traffic and traffic jams caused by the numerous police roadblocks. In addition to the Algerian oil company SONATRACH's research centre, Boumerdes is also home to a university with 24,000 current students. The history of this establishment goes back to 1964 and AJZ Engineering GmbH, formerly the "Installations and Projects" division of Carl Zeiss, is a long-standing partner of this research and education institute.
In the middle of Ramadan, which fell in August this year at the hottest time of the year and during the university summer holidays, our company received a pleasant "surprise" from Boumerdes as we learnt that we had been awarded a major supply contract for research instruments for various faculties of the university including:

Laboratories for petrochemical analysis
Laboratories for food technology
Laboratories for mineral and energy resources

The awarding of this contract not only demonstrates appreciation for the products supplied, which were principally German, but also shows confidence in our company, which has been a trusted supplier for local clients for more than 10 years through our subsidiary. AJZ Engineering Algérie Sarl's support in implementing and participating in a microbiological symposium in May 2009 was important for the University of Boumerdes. As the Algerian representative of Carl Zeiss MicroImaging AG and Metasystems GmbH, our subsidiary provided special microscopes and software solutions, which were of great interest to the experts.
